CORAL GABLES, Fla. (December xx, 2009) ---- A member of the Florida Legal Elite Up and Coming Attorneys list, Gamba & Lombana associate Marisol Gomez was recently elected as president of the Puerto Rican Bar Association of Florida.

“I am very excited and honored to have been elected president of the PRBA of Florida,” said Gomez. “Our firm has established a history of involvement in the most important organizations within the legal profession in South Florida, and I am proud to continue to advance our reputation in that regard as the new president of PRBA of Florida.”

The installation ceremony was held at the PRBA's annual gala at the Hyatt Regency in Coral Gables on November 14, 2009, and Gomez will serve a two-year term.

Gomez currently serves as a member of the Board of Governors of The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division. She is currently serving her fourth year on the Board of the Miami-Dade Chapter of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, and as its secretary for 2009-2010. Gomez is also a member of the Dade County Bar Association, Cuban American Bar Association, Florida Justice Association and the National Conference of Puerto Rican Women. She earned a law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in May 2005 and an MBA in corporate finance and legal implications (2002) along with a bachelor's degree in business administration and criminology (1999) from the University of Miami.
