Marisol Gomez Appointed by Florida Association for Women Lawyers to Miami-Dade Board of Directors, Statewide Liaison in Florida Bar Board

CORAL GABLES, Fla. (July 23, 2007) ---- Gamba & Lombana P.A. Associate Marisol Gomez was recently appointed as the statewide liaison of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers on the Board of Governors for the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar, making her the first statewide FAWL representative to serve as a liaison on the board. Gomez was also recently elected to serve a second term on the Board of Directors of the Miami-Dade Chapter of FAWL, and she was named as the chairperson of the group’s Awards Committee.
“I’m very excited and honored to be able to represent FAWL and its various chapters throughout the state in The Florida Bar’s Young Lawyers Division,” said Gomez. “As the association’s membership and activities continue to expand, I look forward to the opportunity to share its efforts with the members of the Young Lawyers Division of The Florida Bar.” Prior to joining Gamba & Lombana, Gomez served as a judicial intern with Senior Judge James Lawrence King, and she has also served as an intern with the state attorney's office in Miami and the offices of the Broward County Attorney and City of Coral Gables Attorney. Gomez earned a law degree from St. Thomas University School of Law in May 2005 and an MBA in corporate finance and legal implications (2002) along with a bachelor's degree in business administration and criminology (1999) from the University of Miami.
FAWL was formed in 1951 by female lawyers primarily from the Miami area. The organization aims to promote the recognition of women within the legal community, improve the administration of justice, elevate judicial standards, promote the study of law, distribute legal knowledge to the general public, and improve relations between the bar, the judiciary and the general public. Membership is open to any attorney, male or female, in good standing in The Florida Bar or any other state's bar, as well as law students.
