Hector Lombana Re-Appointed to Third District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission

Gables, Fla. June 29, 2006 ---- Hector J. Lombana of the Coral Gables, Fla. law firm of Gamba & Lombana P.A. has been re-appointed to serve on the Third District Court of Appeal Judicial Nominating Commission for his third term. The nine member commission is responsible for nominating the judicial finalists for the Third District Court of Appeal that go before the governor for final selection.
“I feel truly honored to be appointed again by Gov. Bush to serve on the Judicial Nominating Commission,” said Lombana. “I look forward to continuing the work of the commission to ensure that the most highly qualified candidates are recognized with an opportunity to become a judge.”
An attorney who has specialized in wrongful death, personally injury, insurance and medical malpractice litigation since 1977, Lombana earned magna cum laude honors from Rutgers University and is a graduate of the Rutgers University Law School. He has become an active voice in promoting the legal rights of Hispanics, minorities and women, and is a past president and director of the Cuban American Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the Academy of Florida Trial Lawyers and the Florida Association for Women Lawyers.
